COMMUNITY GARDENS
The Community Garden is a beautiful green space in our community and is always open to walk through, or take a book and just sit and enjoy, or if you have time, come join us to maintain and share in it's bounty.
The Community Garden looks to grow food for the community, grow connection between people, grow knowledge about the food we eat and about our planet.
We Grow Food
The Community Garden is a beautiful green space in our community and is always open to walk through, or take a book and just sit and enjoy.
There is real momentum in the garden to grow food for our community.
Supported by an enthusiastic group of volunteers meeting every Wednesday the garden is planning for abundance this year following an amazing harvest last year.
With a network of raised beds, worm farms, chickens, composting, propagation in our large glasshouse, and lots of work taking place in the orchard there are always things to see and do in our garden all year.
Composting Food Waste from the Farmers Market
On site worm-farms and composting allow volunteers to sort through the refuse from our Lyttelton Farmers Market and repurpose it to reduce the amount of waste produced.
Come and join us.
Open Wednesday from 10.00am to 2.00pm
Shared Lunch at 12:30 pm
Everyone is welcome to come and be part of the life of our edible garden. No gardening knowledge or experience required!
Accessed via the lane by the swimming pool and up the metal stairs or through gates on St David Street.
