About Us
Project Lyttelton began in 1996 under the leadership of Captain John Cleaver. In the early days it was involved with the main street upgrade and the establishment of the Torpedo Boat Museum.

In 2003 Margaret Jefferies became the first chairperson of the re-envisaged Project Lyttelton bringing together like-minded locals to share skills and build community. Under Margaret's direction Project Lyttelton focused on building a strong, sustainable, resilient community. Today, it's a passionate group dedicated to empowering Lyttelton's people and environment with the resources at hand.
